the Musical Industries - Important Information
Featuring the tireless efforts of three contributing musicians/artistes, The Musical Industries, or "tMI," focuses its collective attention on capturing sounds, themes, and lyrics inspired by the golden age of pop and rock and roll music from both America and Great Britain. Endeavoring to bring something new and interesting to the musical genres that we all know and love, the Musical Industries provides an inspiring link between the past and the right now. Sometimes employing only rock guitar, bass, and drums while singing into a broadcast microphone like you might find in a 1960's television studio, the band expresses immediate messages. In other instances tMI layers a Minimoog synthesizer, Mellotron, and Rhodes piano to bring you a softer rhythmic and chordal approach to popular music. In both these and a myriad of varied approaches, the band generates a spark that reflects the listener's ever-changing moods. This ridiculously wise trio features Mercury Skeleton on vocals and many of the instruments, as well as holding down chief writing and production duties; Ulysses Brown, the band's resident musicologist, technologist, and guitarist; and Ted Night, drummer, shoulder to cry on, and much, much more. Together, these personalities combine to bring a comfortably complicated form of today's music to you.
